Input and Output devices Input ports are connections at the back of a computer. Input devices are connected to these ports, for example, a keyboard which is used to type data into a computer. Output devices are things we use to get information OUT of a computer. Some examples of these are: Monitor, printer, headphones…

Input devices Any hardware device that sends data to the computer. Without any input devices, a computer would only be a display device and would not allow users to interact. In computing, a keyboard is knowned as a: typewriter keyboard, which uses an arrangement of buttons or keys, to act as mechanical levers or electronic switches which INPUTS information in the computer software or any other programs. A microphone is an acoustic-to-electric transducer or sensor that converts sound into an electrical signal. It can be connected to the computer by USB cable USB Pen Drive is a small sized device that can be used to easily transfer files between USB-compatible systems It’s a hand-operated electronic device that controls the coordinates of a cursor on your computer screen as you move it around on a pad

Output Devices An output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment used to communicate something that comes from inside of the computer, to the outside A printer is an output device which produces a text and/or graphics) of documents stored in electronic form, usually on physical print media The monitor displays the video and graphics information generated by the computer through the video card. Monitors are very similar to televisions but display information at a much higher quality.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES Disadvantages of a printer:  Resource: Waste of Paper a Natural Resource  Time: Old Printers take longer to print  Ink: If the printer runs out of ink you will have to pay to refill it Advantages of a printer:  Print Preview: You can see everything on hard copy whatever you see in computer monitor.  Storage: You can store all the information in your file for future reference.

Advantages and Disadvantages Advantages of an especific monitor (LCD): -Uses Less Power. -Takes up less space. DISADVANTAGES PF LCD MONITORS More expensive Screen care and fragility
