6 6 InCo movement projects for youth The key lessons learnt: 1. Young people understand that innovation is primarily a technological innovation which requires high financial resources. 2. Young people believe that only scientists, artists and other people with a high educational level can be innovative. 3. Young people lack resources that stimulate them to think more dynamically, and create new ideas and opportunities. 4. Young people don't systematically practice cooperation and diversification 5. Teachers are overburdened with the execution of obligatory curricula and have no time (or energy) to implement innovation processes in schools. 6. Schools do not have a transparent development strategy for innovation. 7. Youth is a vast, yet hitherto unexplored source for higher level of innovation on a national level.

7 7 InCo movement projects for youth The core purpose: - to stimulate radical, lateral thinking and creativity in young people - to develop competences for creativity and innovation - to raise their self-esteem - to increase respect and consideration for others - to understand the value and importance of every job and worker -- to understand that changes are an inevitable fact of life, and source for innovation - to make them feel alive - to make them see the beauty inside themselves and around them - to make schools a fun place to be - to raise the degree of mutual cooperation and networking - to strengthen and develop innovative concept with an emphasis on increasing the confidence and efficiency of local communities - to raise the level of social capital

8 8 InCo movement projects for youth Where and how to introduce innovation communication? In curriculum by: - the use of innovative teaching techniques, - an innovative way of connecting and correlating different subjects together - encouraging them to use innovative tools and techniques for presenting their work, - giving them assignments that co-relate different topics and subjects. In extra-curricula program by: - presenting them the concepts and principles of innovation, - introducing them the vocabulary and terminology, - introducing them innovative communication tools, - explaining them different phases of innovation process - introducing them the main attention workers of the innovation space and their contribution to innovative society - exposing them to collaboration techniques of innovation space based on participation and effective team dynamic.

Toddlers Courage to communicate personal opinion Pupils Value recognition; identification of the source for value creation; identification of the innovation process elements; creation of a critical view; recognition of lateral impact and future potentials of innovation; effective innovation communication Teachers and tutors Sustainable development of innovative teaching techniques, innovative way of connecting and correlating different subjects together, pro-active development of innovative tools and techniques for presenting their work, systematical introduction of assignments that co-relate different topics and subjects within a given school year.

12 12 InCo movement projects for youth What is next? Project Vision InCo Jr. in every Slovenian kindergarten and school. Project Mission To encourage and develop high quality communication skills and creative thinking within Slovenian youth. Project Values creativity team work critical assessment curiosity sustainable development Long-term Objectives (until 2013) - 200 kindergartens included (4000 kindergarten children) - 700 primary schools included (17,500 pupils) - 100 secondary schools included (2500 students) - 20,000 educators / teachers / principals / professional staff in educational institutions included - 3600 workshops / lectures - expansion of InCo Jr. to at least 5 countries
