And the Lord gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the Lord had given all their enemies into their hands. Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass” First Thought Three Truths You Can Depend On Number One All God’s Promises Will Eventually be Fulfilled

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes First Thought Three Truths You Can Depend On Number One All God’s Promises Will Eventually be Fulfilled Being a Christian does not exempt you from the problems of life Apart from Christ... there is no life at all The good news is, God fully intends to keep His promises to you

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes First Thought Three Truths You Can Depend On Number Three The Entire Work of Salvation is Guaranteed by God Romans 8:29-30 “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, he also called; those He called, He also justified; those he justified, He also glorified.” The golden chain of salvation

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes First Thought Three Truths You Can Depend On Number Three The Entire Work of Salvation is Guaranteed by God Matthew 25:31-46 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes First Thought Three Truths You Can Depend On Number Three The Entire Work of Salvation is Guaranteed by God Matthew 25:31-46 (cont) “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes First Thought Three Truths You Can Depend On Number Three The Entire Work of Salvation is Guaranteed by God Matthew 25:31-46 (cont) “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes Second Thought 7 Ways to Apply the 7th Principle of an Effective Spiritual Life Number One We can be certain of our salvation 1 John 5:12-13 “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes Second Thought 7 Ways to Apply the 7th Principle of an Effective Spiritual Life Number Two We can be confident of God’s purposes for us Philippians 1:6 “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes Second Thought 7 Ways to Apply the 7th Principle of an Effective Spiritual Life Number Three We can have comfort in the midst of confusing circumstances Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Because God is good, “it will be good”

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes Second Thought 7 Ways to Apply the 7th Principle of an Effective Spiritual Life Number Four We can remain calm when the world is in turmoil Psalm 46 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling... Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The L ORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.”

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes Second Thought 7 Ways to Apply the 7th Principle of an Effective Spiritual Life Number Five We can have hope when our progress seems so slow 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes Second Thought 7 Ways to Apply the 7th Principle of an Effective Spiritual Life Number Six We can encourage others who are faltering Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Don’t be a Lone Ranger Christian

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes Second Thought 7 Ways to Apply the 7th Principle of an Effective Spiritual Life Number Seven We can wait patiently because we know the end of the story The problem is, right now we’re living in an in-between time James 5:7 “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.”

#7 What God Starts, He Finishes “I am persuaded” What we know and what we don’t know Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Are you persuaded?
