5  Labs = hands on  Several lab sections (section Ax) so that you have access to all the necessary equipment and enjoy better prof:student ratios  Demo of alternate schedulealternate schedule  At Algonquin, labs start on day 1 ◦ unless specifically informed otherwise  At Carleton, labs do not usually start until the 2nd or 3rd week… ◦ verify with each course instructor

6  Carleton student card: ◦ 407 University Centre ◦ Can be used almost everywhere on campus  Algonquin student card: ◦ Get proof of BIT student status from Algonquin’s Registrar’s Office ◦ Take that and your Carleton student ID card to room C044 to obtain an Algonquin student ID card  Allows you to enjoy facilities at both campuses…

7  No; at your option, you can write the official Cisco Certification exams.  Best practice: ◦ Write your exam as soon as you can, while the details are still fresh in your memory.  Write your CCNA after 2 nd year  Write each CCNP test (3 in total) shortly after completing the corresponding NET course in 3 rd and 4 th year.

8  No specific needs  All equipment is available at both campuses  Most students will still use their own laptop during the lectures and labs. ◦ Mac and PC

9  Your rapt attention! ;)  Pen and paper to take notes ◦ Or your tablet, laptop, etc, if you’re that proficient!  During the first lecture, the instructor will go through the course outline and explain what is required for success in the course.
