1. Wiggly’s Adventure to the Arctic

2. Wiggly’s Travels Wiggly left Ohio and stopped in the state of Idaho for visits. From there he went to Seattle, Washington, Anchorage, Alaska then finally to Nome, Alaska. Wiggly was very tired when he got to Nome, but he saw many sites.

3. Wiggly’s Travels Seattle Post Falls Anchorage Nome

4. Nome was very cold. The Bering Sea was frozen and people parked their airplanes on it.

5. In Nome Wiggly saw the Iditarod Dog Sled race The racers didn’t make it no Nome in time for Wiggly to see though.

6. …The next day he flew across the Bering Sea on a small plane to Russia.

7. The Bering Sea was full of ice.

8. Wiggly met lots of people on the plane ride They were wearing funny fur hats

9. On the other side of the Bering Sea Wiggly landed in Russia in the City of Anadyr. Seattle Post Falls Anchorage Nome Anadyr Kupol

10. …When he got to Russia he had to fly again, this time on a helicopter.

11. …from the window of the helicopter Wiggly could see the frozen rivers of Chukotka.

12. …he stopped in another town with a big church with things on top and looked like onions and they were made of gold!

13. Then he had to get on another plane and fly to the place called Kupol

15. …after a long day, Wiggly finally made it to Kupol. Kupol is in the Arctic in the province of Chukota in far east Russia. In the Arctic winter, the days are very short, only 4 hours of light each day The temperature was 42 below zero in Kupol BRRRRRRR!

16. Even though is was so cold Wiggly had to sleep in a big tent!

17. At Kupol they drive in special cars that can ride on top of the snow and ice.

18. …Time to go to work Kupol is full of gold! And wiggly saw some people make big bars of it. The gold came out of a hot furnace. It was so hot the gold melted. It went into trays just like making ice cubes.

19. …Time to go to work When the gold cooled down it was very shiny and it was also very heavy. Wiggly wanted to take some of the gold back to Ohio but they wouldn’t let him. He had a nice lunch with some miners instead.

20. …in the cold and dark at Kupol, Wiggly was very surprised to find lots of other animals. He saw………

23. …and some of her friends

24. …they came over to say hello!

25. …and then he saw a sneaky wolf!

26. …Wiggly was scared because wolves eat moose!

27. …but he wolf went away
