12 Further educational objectives of Graphic Arts Technologists Department (Athens TEI) Our main educational objectives are: i.To improve the level of education provided and to enhance the competitiveness of our students in the labor market. ii.To be able to offer at least one specialized masters program with strong research, laboratory and applied profile. iii.To be able to offer a a competitive intensive training program on new technological achievements in the area of GA for older graduates of the department.

13 Vocational Training: Hellenic Federation of Printing Media Communication & IEK INTERDIGITAL Starting in 1999 as a school of the Hellenic Federation of Printing Media Communication In 2004 a Collaboration with the Educational Group Intergraphics created a Vocational School for Offset Printing Technicians Duration: 2 years 36 Offset Printing Technicians were trained and Graduated untill 2010 - most of them working in the GA industry

27 Trends in technology Increase of flexography printing, especially for flexible packaging materials. Gravure printing is restricted on package items, showing also a simultaneous increase and development of printing on flexible package materials. Domination of digital systems and processes in Prepress field. Development of digital printing by the installation of digital printing machines and systems (both for commercial printing and large/wide format printing).
