15 Sources of Accountability Data Institutions report to THECB: student, faculty, course, room – level data What is reported varies for 2-year & 4-year public & independent institutions, health-related, career schools www.txhighereddata.org – CBM Reporting Manuals – have specs for what the institutions have to report www.txhighereddata.org Student enrollment report: name, ID, gender, race/ethnicity, dob, class level, SCH, major, etc. Texas Success Initiative (Dev ed): student-level Course inventory: course #, title, etc. Class report: course #, type, enrollment, etc. 15

Building & room report: room #,usage,enr, etc. Faculty report: name, rank, ID, dob, etc. Graduation report: name, race/ethnicity, degree, date, level of degree, etc. Facilities room and building inventories Admissions report: parents’ ed level, income, ACT/SAT scores, language fluency, etc. Student schedule report: individual courses and grades, by student 16

17 Reports - Examples Closing the Gaps Annual Progress Report (that’s where the graphs came from) –2000-2012 (2013 to be released this summer) –Participation, success, excellence, research Almanac (annual) 2011-2013 - 90 pages –Institutional comparisons: enrollment, degrees awarded, grad rates, work after grad, etc. –Institutional profiles: half-page for each –Comparisons with other states: ed attainment, tuition & fees, 6-yr grad rates, etc. 17
