3 Important information  Remember that the Clients found in the device were downloaded from the cohorts.

5 After selecting on clients, the following screen is displayed

6 Type of clients in Muzima The type of clients we have are: (I) Existing clients These are already registered clients and are stored in the system. Existing client.

7 (ii) New client These are clients who comes to the clinic for the first time. They are registered by filling a registration form. Icon used to add new client

8 Searching a client  Before registering a client one must search whether the client is existing. You can either search using (i) barcode reader –Check for barcode reader. This step is optional and you can skip if you do not want to use a barcode scanner. (i) barcode reader –Check for barcode reader. 9 Click here to check barcode scanner Use your device’s camera to capture the barcode. If you don’t have a barcode, you may skip this step by clicking Skip below

10 (ii) typing Amrs ID or Universal ID Universal ID Amrs ID

11 (iii) By typing the clients name Patient Name

12 Difference between universal and Amrs ID’s  Universal ID is recognized as a unique identifier in all ampath clinics for example:041500834-1.While  Amrs Medical record is the number that is assigned to clients belonging to a specific clinic, example:0001MT-2

13  When a client comes to the clinic, key in his/her name in the search icon dialogue box Search icon

14 (iv) By the use of finger prints The screenshot below shows the finger print icon which is still on process, but can be used to search clients in future. Finger print icon

15 The keyboard  Key board is used to type the name of a client or to enter an ID number. Press the tab written ?123,for the keyboard to change to numeric. Keyboard Numeric letters

16 Note: (i) If the client does not exist then fill the Registration form Mandatory fields

17 Note: All fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory

18 Procedure of registering a new client (i) Click on the add icon (ii) On the confirmation dialogue box, select No. (iii) Select the registration form on the list (iv) Fill in the required information Note: Where there is red asteric(*) is mandatory. After filling the form then save.

19 Important Information  If a client is referred from a different clinic i.e. non ampath, then should be registered by giving (i) an ampath Amrs ID or (ii) Universal ID

20 Note:  Ampath Amrs ID in mUzima is referred as Old Ampath Medical Record Number and  Universal ID in mUzima is referred as Amrs Medical Record Number Example:

21 How to identify Male and Female Clients  You can identify by an icon at the beginning of every name; for example, Female male Female male

22 Managing a client (Deleting, Editing and making changes)  Cannot delete a client from our devices but can be voided in the server.  Cannot also edit or make changes except in the server.

23 Attributes of a client in mUzima An attribute is a quality or characteristics given to a person. For example: (i) A client must have two or three names (ii) Date of birth, Age (iii) Universal ID,Amrs ID, ID No Date of Birth Universal ID Name

24 Note:  Every client has a client summary and it always displays when you select on a client. (i) Observation (ii) Forms (iii) Notifications
