4 Advising in the Jones College Student success and graduation is our goal. Each student in the Jones College receives an Academic Advisor and a Faculty Advisor.

5 Students selecting a major in the Jones College of Business must apply after meeting the admission policy. The earliest a student can apply and be accepted is as a sophomore. Jones College Admission Policy

7 Student organizations have a faculty sponsor and are either major specific or open to anyone interested in business. Samples of activities and accomplishments from 14-15: The Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) student competition team competed in the regional competition in Atlanta and won first place. Four students were selected to go to the National AITP Student Conference in Atlanta in April. Students in the American Marketing Association traveled to the (AMA) Student Organization Conference. Two students competed in a marketing strategy competition. They also completed a Sales Certificate offered by AMA. In October, approximately 25 members of the Financial Management Association undergraduate Finance organization, toured the UBS Offices in Nashville and met with members of the executive staff.

9 The BEST (Business Exchange for Student Talent) career fair hosted 39 local employers to network with 150 students interested in careers in MKT and MGMT. 174 follow up interviews were scheduled. (3/14) 156 students and 34 employers attended the Meet the Firms (ACTG)recruiting event (2014). 8 new organizations participated. The IT Connect Fair included 21 employers and over 150 students. (11/14) The Economics and Finance Fair included 41 employers and 153 students. (3/15) The Career Development Center advises students by career cluster, offers career and internship fairs, an employment database and the Raider Professional Network. Career Related Events

10 The Jones College has about 125 full time faculty. Faculty are either tenured, tenure-track or adjunct. The college rarely employs teaching assistants. Dr. Ford, Weatherford Chair of Finance, a former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, was presented with the MTSU Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Hollman was named favorite MTSU professor in the annual Murfreesboro Daily News Journal Ruthies Awards. Mark Jobe, Accounting, was voted Outstanding Professor in Jones College in GIS Omega Chapter’s annual election. Robert B. Blair, BCEN, is National Business Education Association president-elect and National Association for Business Teacher Educators president. Dan Morell was named Bridgestone/Firestone Distinguished Assistant Professor. He serves as advisor for the MS in Management.
