15. Step 2 (Cont.) - Kelly Step 2: Finding our worth in Christ. John 8:3-11 tells of an adulterous woman. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus,

16. John 11:13-16 (Cont.) “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

17. John 11:13-16 (Cont.) But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

18. John 11:13-16 (Cont.) Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

19. John 11:13-16 (Cont.) “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” Up Next: Jesus stood up for her…

20. Step 2 (Cont.) - Kelly Jesus stood up for her when everyone wanted to condemn her. The woman was worth his time. Jesus deviated from his teaching time because she was worth it to him. Up Next: Jesus pardoned her so it was easy…

21. Step 2 (Cont.) - Kelly This woman was teased, mocked and looked down upon. Jesus pardoned her so it was easy for her to forgive herself. Up Next: Our take-away

22. Closing - Kelly Our Take-Away: We bring shame and disgrace upon ourselves because we feel unworthy to deserve forgiveness. Up Next: No matter what you have done….

23. Closing (Cont.) - Kelly No matter what you have done or what was done to you, Jesus finds you worth ding on the cross for and forgiving your sins. We too, should be able to forgive our selves. Up Next: Through God’s forgiveness…
