Intro to GED 2014 The GED is a high school equivalency exam. A new GED test will be launched in January of 2014. At that time, test takers who have not completed all of the current subject area tests of the GED will need to start over with the new test. What could you contribute to the tone of this change for test takers?

About the 2014 test The GED will be moving from paper to an entirely computer-based format. There will be four tests: Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. The tests will be scored with two levels of proficiency: High School Equivalency and Career & College Readiness. The score reporting will be much more detailed than it is for the current test.

Computer skills needed A free digital literacy readiness test will be available this summer from GED Testing Service Keyboarding for short answer (10 minutes) and extended response (25-45 minutes). Cutting, pasting and highlighting text. Working with more than one open window. Scrolling and navigating through reading passages with tabs. Dragging and dropping answers to a particular place the page. Using an on-screen calculator and a math formula sheet while working on math problems. http://abe.mpls.k12.mn.us/ged_2014_2

The Practice Test: GED Ready ™ Patrons can take individual subject practice tests on any computer for $4 each. Timing, just for the test RLA: 47 min + 45 min for extended response Social Studies: 33 min + 25 min for extended response Math 45 min Science 45 min

Payment will be via debit or credit card or voucher.
