Engineering and The Burj Khalifa BY THE ROBOTIC REBELS

Fun Facts About Engineering You may not know it, but even the roller coasters you go on just for fun is the work of a mechanical engineer! It takes about 12 months to build the average roller coaster

Facts about Engineering The word “engineering” comes from the Latin word for cleverness. The Titanic was 269 metres long and it took roughly 3 years to build.

Facts about engineering Golf balls have dimples because it helps reduce drag and this allows the ball to fly further than a smooth ball. The London Eye in England is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe standing at a staggering height of 135 metres!

Exotic Buildings This is the nautilus house. It is a giant snail shaped home. Another fine example of Engineering in Mexico!!!

This is the piano house It is not only one of the funniest buildings in the world but someone actually LIVES HERE. It is also a music studio!!! This is the piano house It is not only one of the funniest buildings in the world but someone actually LIVES HERE. It is also a music studio!!!

The Lotus Temple in India is a house of worship….. In the shape of a flower!!!! I am sure as your looking at this you are dying to get inside it!!

This building is called the birds nest. It is famous for the Olympic games, despite it's unique design it is the world's largest steel structure. NOW THAT’S COOL!!! Engineering Mega Structures

This is the solar powered Tear-drop building in Dubai. It is just incredible. It is used to suck water from the air !!!

Engineering Mega Structures This is the Dynamic Tower in Dubai, it rotates an 80 story building in a 360 degree turn once every 90 minutes!!!

Worlds Tallest Buildings 3 Makah Royal Clock Tower Hotel in Saudi Arabia stands at 601 metres high.

Worlds tallest buildings 2.Shanghai Tower in China stands at 632metres high.

Worlds tallest Buildings 1 Burj Khalifa in Dubai stands at 828m high.

The Burj Khalifa This is The Burj Khalifa Facts About The Burj Khalifa It stands at 828 metres tall It is currently the tallest building in the world! It is situated In Dubai It has the Tallest service Elevator in the world! Cork County Hall is 17 floors high but the Burj Khalifa is 160 floors high

Problems!! The wind changed the construction and design process! The stack effect is the movement of wind in and out of a building and was also a major factor in building The Burj Khalifa It was not easy for the Engineers when building this Beautiful building! They Faced many problems when building the Burj Khalifa! Things Like wind and heat got in the way !

Problems faced while building the Burj Khalifa Heat Dubai is an extremely hot city so the engineers had to deal with the cement drying too fast so they poured iced concrete onto the building in order to stop it drying too quickly!!!

THE BURJ KHALIFA We all know that the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building right now, but not for long! The Kingdom Tower is on the way up and it is going to be 1km high! It is being constructed in Saudi Arabia at a cost of 1.2billion dollars! We hope to see the Kingdom Tower in 2017.

The Kingdom Tower This is a computer Rendering of the kingdom tower

The End! By the Robotic Rebels We hope you have learned something about engineering and The Burj Khalifa. Thanks for listening!
