2  Integrated Co-teaching - push in special education teacher Kindergarten: 2 hours with 80 min. TA Gr. 1-5: 2 hours 40 minutes with 80 min. TA  Consultant Teacher Direct - 40 or 80 minutes push in special education teacher  Resource Room- pull out daily  Related Services such as speech, counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy

3 12 students:1 teacher:1 teaching assistant  Parkville1 class: Gr. K  JFK 4 classes: Gr. 1, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5  Baker 1 class: Gr. 4-5

4 We also have five smaller Intensive Needs classes for students who need smaller ratios. They are located at Saddle Rock and JFK Elementary Schools. 6:1:28:1:2*Gr. K-2*Gr. 3-5

5 Both have Team Taught classes, resource room, CTD, small classes (12:1:1) & related services  North Middle also has Intensive Needs classes 8:1:2 and 6:1:2  South Middle also has the EXCEL program for grades 7-8 which is a structured small class program with daily counseling and a reinforcement system to support students who need assistance with behavior or emotional regulation.

6  North and South High Schools have Team Taught classes, resource room, CTD, small classes (Foundations/Skills) & related services:  South High has the PEAK program for grades 9-10 which EXCEL students typically move into.  North High has the ACE program which focuses on life skills and career exploration as well as the Transition program for the students ages 18- 21 who get more work experience and independent living skill development. North High has an apartment where the students can work on these skills.

7 General and special education students can both also attend SEAL, located at Clover Drive, or the Village School. Resource room and counseling are available in both locations and each has a full time psychologist.

8 Village School – alternative high school where class sizes are typically fewer than 12 students with a total enrollment of about 50 students. SEAL – alternative program with classes that are usually fewer than 5 students. Focus is on credit recovery for students who need more structure and support than the traditional high school settings can provide.

9 The location of the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) office that oversees special education in Great Neck Administrators:  Dr. Joseph Hickey - Assistant Superintendent  Dr. Alison Brennan - Director  Ms. Ellice Geller – Supervisor for Elementary  Dr. Ken Davidow – Supervisor for Secondary
