2. History/Background History/Background about the show
The TV series Pretty Little Liars is based on the series of novels who were written by Sara Shepard. Pretty Little Liars premiered on June 8th, 2010 on ABC Family. The executive producers for the show are Leslie Morgenstein, Bob Levy, I. Marlene King, and Oliver Goldstick. The point of the show is to get people interested in a new teen drama show. The main characters are Spencer, Aria, Hanna, Emily, Alison and “A”. The setting of the show takes place in a high school, as well in the girls houses. As the show progresses they end up in a graveyard, etc.

3. Main Characters: Spencer
Troian Bellisario plays Spencer Hastings in the series show Pretty Little Liars. Spencer is overachieving, extremely intelligent and wealthy. She is constantly working many jobs such as internships, charity work and being part of a field hockey team and after-school programs. She is very confident, courageous and determinated. Spencer would stand up for her friends when no one else would. Spencer doesn’t get along with her older sister and her parents work a lot and are very demanding with her.

4. Aria
Lucy Hale plays Aria Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars. Aria was an artsy and alternative girl before Alison’s disappearance. But, when she started getting teased and kept in line by Alison, Aria started to resent Alison. When Alison disappeared Aria moved to Iceland for a year, then came back home. Now Aria is much more mature.

5. Hanna
Ashley Benson plays Hanna Marin in Pretty Little Liars. Hanna was very overweight before Alison’s disappearance. When Alison disappeared Hanna became friends with a girl named Mona and lost weight as well as became popular. Hanna was still generous, kind and the boldest out of the four girls. She is very protective over her friends and shows her fierce side when defending them. Hanna is always able to pull through her tough situations, she can be witty and sassy yet innocent.

6. Emily
Shay Mitchell plays Emily Fields in Pretty Little Liars. Emily is the “jock” of the group and is a very good swimmer which makes her the star of the Rosewood’s Swim Team. Emily is described as sweet, caring and loyal. She always tries hard to keep her friends safe. Emily is an only child so she is the center of her parents life. She finds it hard to keep her sexuality hidden, but finally comes out with it and is much happier and stronger with herself.
