Host a Movie Night Its fun, educational, and a great way to generate some dialogue on important issues

Give a talk at a local school Health professional’s words carry weight with younger peers. Help to educate and involve them!

Host a “My Cup of Tea” event There are still 25,000 nuclear weapons in the world. The purpose of each and everyone of them is their potential of causing a major disaster. But in fact, they are causing disaster every day. People are suffering from disease and deprivation. Wouldn't the work and money be better spent on health care and education? We do not need weapons of mass destruction. We need a mass destruction of weapons. It is time for a peaceful chain reaction. Let's start it together! Next time you have tea with someone: talk about a nuclear weapon free world. That's sharing a nice cup of tea. Staff a public “tea stand” to engage people in a dialogue with people about nuclear weapons. Distribute the message below on fliers.

Visit a coal-fired or nuclear power plant Get some first-hand “insight” – take a picture holding a sign and send it to PSR!

Stage a Demonstration Organize your SPSR chapter to raise public awareness – get creative and get out there!

Nuclear Weapons -Abolition NOW You need two cylinders, made of glass or transparent plastic. One cylinder represents the current worldwide stock of nuclear weapons and is filled with approx. 25,000 stones, beans or small balls. The other cylinder is the trash can where nuclear weapons will be disarmed. You ask the pedestrians to help you to disarm one nuclear weapon today. They simple have to put one stone from the first cylinder into the second. Afterwards you hand over a certificate to the people, where you thank that they helped you to disarm one nuclear weapon. The certificate also contains some information about nuclear weapons.
