1 British parliament is based on democracy, this is when ordinary people have a say in what the Government do. This allows voters to decide how their country is run and who by. To vote you have to be on the Electoral role and be over 18 years of age. It’s important to hear other peoples ideas. The General Election happens every 5 years.

2 May the 7 th is a important day for the whole country. It’s the General Election. This is held to decide who rules over the country. The General Election is when British citizens vote who rule England. It ’s on Thursday 7th May 2015.

3 People who are over 18 years old and who are on the electoral role can vote. To vote you have to go to the polling station or you can vote by postal vote. There are different party’s to choose from.

4 Why should people vote? To decide who can rule the country. To make a fair choice and to see who the public vote for. To make a choice about how the money is spent through the school, Hospital and roads. It’s their choice to make.

5  Representative democracy is a common type of democracy. Britain is a representative democracy. This is where citizens within a country elect a representative to make decisions for them. Every 5 years in Britain the people have the chance to vote into power those they wish to represent us in Parliament.

6  The leader of the Conservative Party is David Cameron. The leader of Labour Party is Ed Miliband. The other party was Liberal Democrat and they are run by Nic Clegg.

7  Magna Carta, meaning ‘The Great Charter’, is one of the most famous documents in the world. (r.1199-1216) as a practical solution to the political crisis he faced in 1215, Magna Carta was established for the first time, the principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the law. Although nearly a third of the text was deleted or substantially rewritten within ten years, and almost all the clauses have been repealed in modern times, Magna Carta remains a cornerstone of the British constitution.

8  Suffragettes were members of a women's organization (right to vote) movements in the late 19th and early 20th century, particularly militants in Great Britain such as members of the women’ (WSPU). Suffragist is a more general term for members of suffrage movements, if radical or conservative, male or female’

9  Our political party name is Burton Winners. The first issue is transport. We would spend our money on transport on ramps, for transport such as trains, buses, taxi’s and coaches and free buses for over 60. To let people outside.The second issue is health. We would like to spend our money on health insures e.g. cancer, heart attack and other deadly diseases to prevent people from death with advanced technology. The third issue is families. We will give poor families a house and food bank and ask people to help. We want poor people to live in a house and not let them live in the streets.

10 My political party name is Peace Party. The first issue is Transport: Over 60’s get a free ride. The second issue is Public Building: to make the hospital bigger and to extend the hospital, more people can get more help and build more hospitals. Education: to build more schools and poor people can get education, free dinners, free uniform.
