2. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one to one relationships with mentors. Also to boost the children's self esteem and help them better there future in the world. And help them make a difference. Help better them in school and one on one contact with others.

3. National research has shown that positive relationships between youth and their Big Brothers and Big Sisters mentors have a direct and measurable impact on children's lives. By participating in the youth mentoring programs, Little Brothers and Sisters are: More confident in their schoolwork performance Able to get along better with their families 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs 27% less likely to begin using alcohol 52% less likely to skip school.

4. Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. President is Karen Mathis Are big brothers and sister s for ages 6-18 In 1904, Ernest Coulter, a court clerk in New York City, started New York Big Brothers In 1905, Mrs. John Okeefe began a Big Sisters program in New York City The organizations merged forming Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America in 1977
