2. The emerging EBOLA preparedness is new for our nation and our organizations. Information changes rapidly, sometimes daily based on new findings. This information is current as of 12/22/14 and is based on CDC recommendations/guidelines. Products used in the pictures may vary from products that are available at your facility based on supplier. The principles remain the same. Consult your Infection Prevention Specialist or the Clinical Nurse Educator at your facility for further guidance or for any questions you may have.

3. Will need 2 people for donning. 1 associate trained to observe who will complete the checklist and read aloud each step of the procedure Go to bathroom Empty pockets Change into surgical scrubs Remove all unnecessary items (jewelry, pager, phones) No food/gum in mouth Tie back hair and pin up off shoulders Wash hands Donning will occur in dedicated area Inspect all PPE for flaws. 4. Perform hand hygiene Don bouffant/shower cap

5. Boot/leg covers Pull boot/leg covers up as high as they go.

6. Blue Impervious Gown The opening goes to the back. Tie inside gown and on the outside.

7. Face Shield Hood is underneath the face shield to protect forehead from being exposed

8. Gloves Inner gloves go over the cuffs of the blue impervious gown Outer gloves go over inner gloves and gown is bloused to cover seam

9. Verification The trained observer should complete the following prior to allowing the donned associate to enter the room: Verify completion of donning checklist Ensure there are no breaks or exposed skin Ensure there is a sufficient range of motion for the associate to perform their job.
