2 Washington, DC is the ultimate classroom. The students will enjoy experiencing our government first hand when they visit the U.S. Capitol Building, White House and Supreme Court. They will also be inspired by their trip to the Smithsonian and awed by the various monuments and memorials including Jefferson, Lincoln, Iwo Jima, Roosevelt, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. 11 TOUR SUPPORT Tour Guides- -Licensed by Washington Guild of Guides and chosen by NationsClassroom based upon their knowledge of Washington, D.C. and ability to relate to Students

12 TOUR SUPPORT Tour Coordinator- -Responsible for the proactive execution of the tour from the time we arrive until the time we depart Hotel Coordinator– -Responsible for the hotel part of our stay -They will make sure we have a room block separate from the rest of the hotel -Make sure all of the rooms are ready and all keys work -Turn off long distance on phones and pay per view movies -Work to coordinate with us to review and plan each day -Make sure breakfast is ready -Anything else we need related to the hotel

13 TOUR SUPPORT Night Security- -One security guard per floor from 10:30pm to 5:30am -All have had extensive background checks including FBI and Drug testing -Will not go into student rooms -Security will keep people that are not a part of our group separate from us -Will turn in a log form with notes on how the night went Tour Central- Available 24 Hours a day for emergencies including : -Family Emergency -Lost Book Bags/Cameras -Events in Washington, D.C. Other- -Accident/Dental Insurance -Luggage Tags -Wristband with Tour Central 800# on them

14 Chaperones  Teacher/admin chaperones based on number of students attending  1-10 ratio  Parents/guardians are welcome but will need to monitor a small group  All parents/guardians will need to complete a district background check form before registering

15 Behavior Requirements  In order to participate in the D.C. Field Study students must demonstrate good citizenship skills  Students will NOT be allowed to participate in the trip if they… -Receive 3 separate BIC assignments or 2 OSS assignments  Students will forfeit all payments made, the $99 deposit, and their spot on the trip.

16 Behavior Requirements  The trip is organized through NationsClassroom and not STMS nor the Rock Hill School District  Please read all the fine print items on the registration sheet from NationsClassroom  Any students who cannot adhere to NationsClassroom’s rules & policies or policies of D.C. sites will be sent home at the parent’s expense

17 Important Dates: Register by November 15, 2013 with a $99.00 to ensure your spot for the 2014 trip. Total Trip Price: $469.00 –Quad Occupancy Pay in full or have the balance divided into five Equal payments on the EZPay program: December 15 th January 15 th February 15 th March 15 th April 15 th
