11  Admission requirements vary by institution, but most follow similar UC/CSU guidelines in terms of subject requirements and examination requirements  Students must check with the college admissions office or visit the college website to determine current admission requirements  May use “committee” type admission process o Student applicants are reviewed in the context of their entire application. Extracurricular activities, leadership experience, and community service can play a significant role. 11 Admission Requirements

B l English – 4 YEARS REQUIRED Four years of college-preparatory English that include frequent and regular writing, and reading of classic and modern literature. C l Mathematics – 3 YEARS REQUIRED, 4 YEARS RECOMMENDED Three years of college-preparatory mathematics that include the topics covered in elementary and advanced algebra and two and three-dimensional geometry. Must complete Algebra 2. D l Laboratory Science – 2 YEARS REQUIRED, 3 YEARS RECOMMENDED Two years of laboratory science providing fundamental knowledge in at least two of these three foundational subjects: biology, chemistry and physics. El Language Other than English – 2 YEARS REQUIRED, 3 YEARS RECOMMENDED Two years of the same language other than English. Fl Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) – 1 YEAR REQUIRED A single yearlong approved arts course from a single VPA discipline: dance, drama/theater, music or visual art. G l College-Preparatory Electives – 1 YEAR REQUIRED One year (two semesters), in addition to those required in "a-f" above, chosen from the following areas: visual and performing arts (non-introductory level courses), history, social science, English, advanced mathematics, laboratory science and language other than English (a third year in the language used for the "e" requirement or two years of another language).

14 SAT I Critical Reading Includes reading passages and sentence completions. Mathematics Includes questions on arithmetic operations, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability Writing Includes a short essay and multiple-choice questions on identifying errors and improving grammar and usage. SAT II Subject TestsSAT II Subject Tests (Optional) Subject Tests are hour-long, content-based tests that allow you to showcase achievement in specific subject areas where you excel. Check individual college websites to confirm test require ments. 14

15 ACT The ACT (No Writing) consists of four multiple-choice tests: English Grammar Mathematics (up to Trigonometry) Reading Comprehension Science Reasoning The ACT Plus Writing includes the four multiple-choice tests and a Writing Test.Writing Test 15

18 1.You must complete the Career Interest Profiler In Naviance to be eligible for the Senior Internship Class. DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 6. o Mr. Bennett will visit your English class during the first 2 weeks of November to explain the Internship class. 2.You must complete the RBV Career Interest Profiler Survey (in the “About Me” Tab) to earn credit for your résumé assignment given in your English Class. DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 30.
