8 Conclusion The Australian aviation industry is experiencing record traffic levels and operating at high load factors. Currently domestic traffic is growing faster than international. Challenges facing the industry –Absorbing new capacity and new aircraft types –New entrants (Tiger, International LCCs) –Fuel prices –Environmental costs (emissions trading / taxes)
