4  Programmes on disaster preparedness  Updates on the natural disaster prevalent in the area  Dispel rumours and myths  Trauma healing programmes

5  Emergency drills  Disaster simulation workshops  Help establish links with relevant government offices and NGOs  Create disaster management network

6  Include women in all aspects of disaster management  Reduce number of casualties and save lives  Better service providers  Cultural norms make it even more essential

7  Timely preparation for disaster  Importance of community-based disaster response  Training on disaster management for radio staff and community  Train community radios on coordinating relief activity and information updates  Need for a handbook/manual on how collectives can respond especially on complex issues around timing  Birth of new community radios and positive attitude of governments towards CRs.
