2. Welcome to ENGGEN 199 The modules can be done in any order, but they are designed to integrate testing, learning and practice. It is therefore important to work through each part of a selected module in the following order: Quiz, Checkpoint, Activities and Challenge tasks.

3. Quiz The ‘Quiz’ tests your ability to find mistakes in a written text. “Can you spot mistakes?”

4. Checkpoint ‘Checkpoint’ allows you to review or uncover the rules of English use. Uncovering the rules will help you understand why the error has occurred and how it can be corrected. “Do you know the rules?”

5. Activities The ‘Activities’ section gives you practice in using your new knowledge to find the errors and correct them. “Can you correct mistakes?”

6. Challenge Tasks This section engages you in extended reading and free writing tasks that require you to use language in engineering contexts. “Can you put it all together accurately?”
