Some parents shout at or humiliate their child instead of smacking, but anti-smackers say that a better alternative to corporal punishment is a punishment which fits the crime.

8 5. Summarize the text using your own words. (Model summary) Since 2004, it has been legal for British parents to use corporal punishment to discipline their children. However, people against smacking are asking for more protection of the rights of children,claiming that violence makes children more aggressive. Whereas some parents have difficulties in finding other types of punishment, anti-smackers think that the punishment should fit the crime.
