2. At Lindblom, we study Greek and Latin roots for two primary reasons… 1)To give you an essential ‘word attack’ skill based on our knowledge that… 2)Greek and Latin roots are the KEY to unlocking so many more unfamiliar words!

3. Every TWO weeks, we will learn FOUR new roots that lead to TWELVE new words…here are our first examples… PHOTOTROPIC PHOSPHORESCENT PHOTOGENIC LUCID ELUCIDATE TRANSLUCENT CIRCUMSPECT PROSPECT SPECTER INVIDIOUS PROVIDENTIAL IMPROVISE

8. We will be using a learning and studying strategy for our vocabulary called DMC The strategy will require you to purchase a pack of index cards and develop an additional strategy for storing your cards (ziploc bag or buying cards already bound by rings, a recipe box, etc…)

9. On the front of the index card you will write the vocabulary word – you will also need four additional cards to represent the four new roots – for a total of 16 new cards every two weeks. Then on the back…
