3 The Netherlands is the official name. Holland is the name of 2 provinces in The Netherlands. North and South Holland. The confusion comes from several historical factors. Is The Netherlands and Holland same thing?

4 The Netherlands is a small country sandwiched between Belgium and Germany in Western Europe. The capital of The Netherlands is Amsterdam. Geography

5 Language The local language is "Nederlands“, but due to historical reasons it’s referred to in English as "Dutch". Don’t mix with Danish (датский) and German (немецкий).
