This example is a step by step walkthrough for installing the SRH Front Desk Printer in Windows 8

Download the driver at the bottom of the page for your computer. If you do not know whether your computer is 32 or 64 bit, press the start button and type “computer” then right click “This Computer” and select properties. Under “System” and “System Type”

There will be a prompt at the bottom of the screen asking you if you would like to run or save click “Run”. This was done using Internet Explorer so your download box may appear differently.

After the file downloads, a window will appear. You are now going to install the drivers. Click the “Next” button.

Accept the agreement and click “Next”

Choose a directory to install the drivers to. You will need to remember where they are later, so make it somewhere obvious.

The files will be extracted to the folder you chose. Click “Ok” when it is finished.

Now click the start button again and type “printer”. Then click on “Devices and Printers”

The “Devices and Printers” dialogue box will appear. Click “Add a Printer”

The “Add Printer” box will appear. Click “The printer I want isn’t listed” option at the bottom of the page.

Select “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings” and click “Next”

Select “Create a new port” then select “Standard TCP/IP port from the dropdown menu”

Type 192.168.1.7 in the “Hostname or IP address” box. Uncheck “Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use”, then click “Next”

Select “Have Disk”.

Select “Browse” then navigate to where you saved the original file we downloaded earlier.

Open the “Win8x64” folder (the x may be followed by 86 depending on your system) Then open the “disk 1” folder.

Select “OEMSETUP” and click “Open”

Click “Ok” Then click “Next”

Select what you would like to call the printer and click “Next”

A “User Account Control” box may appear, click “Yes”

The printer will install afterwards you can decide if you would like to make it your default printer then click “Finish”
