2.  Peace with God is what matters first. (Phil 4:7)  God’s peace is not like the world’s peace, that’s why it has different results. (John 14:27)  Unity isn’t uniformity, it isn’t based in absolute agreement, but shared peace.

3.  The starting point: Friends not enemies.  What brings us together is bigger than the issues that might separate us. (Rom 8:31)  Unity includes the partnership that Paul is so enthusiastic about. (Phil 1:4-5)

4.  Unity is not something that comes automatically, it has to be worked at.  What have you done to improve unity where there’s discord? Make a significant choice to fix things.  What about building unity in the body in general?
