1 Understanding your PLAN Score Report This is a pre-test! Think of it as a way to learn what you need to improve on before next year and your senior year

2 Composite Score The average of your English, Math, Reading, and Science Test Scores Will be between 1 and 32 The bar to the right shows the percentage of students just like you who scored at or below your score. Your estimated ACT Composite Range –21 is an average ACT score

3 Subject Scores Listed under your composite scores English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Scores range from 1 – 32 Look at the bars to the right of each subject score to see how you did compared to others

4 Subscores Listed under the subject scores Usage and Mechanics and Rhetorical skills Pre-Alg./Algebra and Geometry Scores range from 1 – 16 See the bars to the right of each subscore to see how you did compared to others Read “A Note About Scores” on page 3

5 College Readiness In the middle block Shows your readiness for college-level work –Can be below, at, or above standard Read “About Your Scores” in that box This shows what areas need the most improvement. Concentrate on those areas.

6 Admission Standards Look at your Estimated ACT Composite Score Range Open – Community College, Colleges NOT in the UNC System, Prep Schools Traditional – Many Private Colleges Selective – Some University of North Carolina Schools Highly selective – UNC-Chapel Hill, ECU, NC State, Duke, UNC-Wilmington, Appalachian

7 Profile for Success Look at the career area preference Notice the ACT Composite Score Range for people in that profession

8 Your Career Possibilities This information comes from what you reported on your interest inventory. Look at where your interests fall according to what you reported. Read “Exploring Career Options” and follow the directions

9 On the back Shows each question you answered and lets you know the correct answer. You may get your PLAN book from us if you want to go over your results On the right, see exactly what areas you need to work on

10 For the Future The best preparation for college is your high school course work –Take the most challenging courses you can –Do all work asked of you…even if it is difficult! –Ask questions when you do not understand –Read challenging literature –Do free practice on the internet! –Dedicate yourself to doing your best.

11 Remember!!!! This is a pre-test. A practice test. Do not be discouraged by your scores. Take action and work on your weak areas. If you did well, keep working! You can always do better. Check the ACT average score for the schools you are interested in. See how your score compares.
