2 What’s the difference? As I mentioned before, Americans and Britons like to use a different system of measurement than the rest of the world For simplicity we will still only focus on length, mass, and volume http://www.kbapps.com/conversion.html

3 English Base Units For measuring length a yard is used and one yard = 0.914 meters An inch is used for measuring the length of smaller objects and 1inch = 2.54 cm

4 English Base Units For measuring mass the pound is used and one pound = 0.45 kilograms

5 An ounce is used for measuring the mass of smaller objects and 1 ounce = 28.35 grams. English Base Units

6 For measuring volume a gallon is used and 1 gallon = 3.78 liters

7 A fluid ounce (oz.) is used to measure the volume of smaller objects and 1 fluid ounce = 29.6 milliliters English Base Units
