2 Art History: “Gassed” John Singer Sargent was an American painter commissioned by the British Govt. to paint scenes of the cooperation between the United States and British forces in WWI While in France, he witnessed the aftermath of a German poison gas attack, and painted “Gassed” The painting is 7 ½ feet tall, and 20 feet wide. When you see it up close, the soldiers are life sized.

Record three specific images/parts of the painting that take you back to the Poem we did yesterday in class. Similarities... Decide how you can use this painting in your newspaper article.
