8 Interactive Technology… A number of years ago, we provided teachers with laptops, expecting it impact the role of technology in the classroom. Laptops did help teachers to become more comfortable with technology… However, it was the installation of projectors in classrooms that has really had an impact on teaching with technology…

11 A projector story… Soon after our retrofit (the “overhaul” of our school technology – which included installation of classroom projectors), one of our teachers had their projector hooked up to their laptop showing a PowerPoint presentation and they were running the laptop off of battery power. When the low battery beeping alarm went off (which was very loud since it was being amplified through the classroom ceiling speakers), the teacher lined the students up and started walking them outside…
