2 No customer service implies that the product is very high quality and should not have problems. A product that is well made with the user in mind would not need as much customer service as a more complicated one.

3 Decreased customer service costs Input from customers/users Input may reveal common problems and commonly held likes and dislikes Creating a sense of community among users Encouraging people to learn more about Microsoft products and ask more questions

4 To gain answers from people who experienced similar problems Users may feel more comfortable asking questions with the anonymity of a message board Ask and answer questions at their convenience

5 Managing a team of personnel I would want to assist other people with problem that are technical related or not. Not all problems can be solved immediately so technical personnel would not spend all of their time helping others.

6 Customer frustrations with not getting sufficient answers People giving false information Customers may lose trust in Microsoft Customers may feel disconnected from Microsoft as a company

7 Allows Microsoft employees to personally meet with users Reveals users’ like and dislikes about Microsoft products Microsoft has the opportunity to create a positive public image

8 Microsoft supporting a user group could damage the reputation of Microsoft in the eyes of their customers. Customer with longtime use of Microsoft can post hurtful comments on the newsgroup. The newsgroup post should be censored because customers like to complain more then say good things about a product.

9 User groups help members with technical questions, give honest advice on software selection, and provide a friendly environment where people can learn more about Microsoft.

10 The Most Valuable Professionals program help Microsoft technology to advance. Encourage users to participate in Newsgroups and User Groups Give recognition to those who help others

11 MVP are the elite of the knowledge of Microsoft product. The MVP are technology ambassadors giving them public recognition of what ever accomplishment they bring to the Microsoft corporation.

12 To keep track and organize Newsgroup message boards Allow users to access and answer internet posts To keep users informed of message boards and meetings Keep a record of user’s activities to be able to choose MVPs
