3 Mission- To be a CONNECTOR of companies, job seekers and community organizations to provide jobs for Ferguson and surrounding communities. History- Last year over 30 African Americans leaders convened at Dave and Suzie Spence house to discuss Ferguson. St. Louis has had 30 years of issues and candid discussions were had. Conclusion- These topics were discussed : Jobs, Youth, Social Skills, Crime and Education.

4 Ferguson 1000 was created to address the systemic issues through job creation strategies.

5 Entry Level- This sector needs Job Readiness Skills. Motivation and training are paramount for this group. Underemployed -Educated African Americans-This sector needs access to higher wages and opportunities. African American Entrepreneur- Reduces unemployment by hiring other African Americans. This sector needs growth opportunities through contracts, contacts and capital.

7 1.) Ferguson 1000 Small Businesses Assistance-F1000 changed plastics for businesses. F1000 donated plexiglass for glass windows to protect businesses from vandalism 2.) Community Outreach and Job Training Youth- Ferguson 1000 partnered in the effort to build a new Ferguson Boys and Girls Club. 3.) Academic - Harvard Panel Presentation December 2015- Result - Activists, Mayor and Police Chief were able to dialogue and discuss issues.

8 4. )Workforce Development- Hiring Event February 28- We had over 17 companies with over 200 jobs. 5 were hired on the spot. 5.) Community Organizing- Weekly Meetings and Speakers to Address Concerns. 6.) Policy- Wish List for Ferguson- Economic and policy solutions were defined in this document.

9 7.) Policy- Effort to decrease Municipal Traffic Tickets Revenue 8.) Community Organizing- 25 plus Community Partners 9) Corporate Partnerships- Corporate Partners provide F1000 jobs with job creation strategies. Such companies are Wal-Mart, Legacy, AAA, Drury Inns, Panera Bread, Hollywood Casino, Cathy's Kitchen, Nike, Enterprise, etc.

10 10) Workforce Development Industry- Sector Minority Business Mentorship 11.) Workforce Development Industry Sector- Technology/ Hack A Thon/ Launchcode/ Claim Academy/ Increase Minority Coders 12.) Marketing/ Social Media Lockerdome/ Celebrities for Ferguson 1000. F1000 is working with Lockerdome to help promote participation in Social Media platforms.

11 13.) Workforce Development/Job Readiness- Urban League SOS - Partnership / Graduation/ Job Field Trip/ Legacy Hires. 14.) Workforce Development Partners / Job Readiness Urban League Probation and Parole Better Family Life SLATE St. Louis County Workforce Program 15) Community Outreach Events- St. Louis Business Journal, Afircan American Leadership Breakfast, Judge Edwards Leadership Meeting, UMSL Youth Conference, TED Talk, Community Concerts, Faith Based Meetings

12 Ferguson 1000 will continue to be a CONNECTOR for job creation. We stand ready to connect the corporate, community and job readiness sectors for the benefit of the St. Louis region to include Ferguson. Developing a diverse workforce will provide growth and sustainability for our region by providing access to jobs to all citizens.
