2. Why Study Abroad? International Experience An experience that focuses on the delivery of educational and social services to individuals with developmental disabilities Students come from a wide range of disciplines! ▫Good preparation to work in a multi-D setting ▫Make new friends!!!!

3. Program Description Cross-cultural experience in Cork, Ireland The opportunity to work with Irish professionals and deliver services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Learn about Irish history, culture and traditions through in/out of-country travel and attendance at social and cultural events.

5. Curriculum Abroad SPED 4800/6800 : Cross-Cultural Perspectives in Developmental Disabilities: Ireland ▫You must write a 5-7 page paper, double spaced, on a topic of your choice. Can be in groups. ▫10 minute oral presentation to the group on your paper topic SPED 4440S/7440 S: Practicum Study Abroad in Ireland ▫This is your placement experience

6. Stuff you need to know Program Fee: $2836.00 ▫Not including Airfare or tuition ▫Does include:  lodging in student apartments with private bedroom and bath on University College Cork campus  Insurance  orientation and departure meals,  transportation to and from either Shannon  Cork city bus pass for 5 weeks  Cork City, County Cork, Gouganne Barra and other group tours, cultural events (e.g. entry fees to sports match, concert, etc.).

GPA of 3.0 or higher on 4.0 scale Prior experience with persons with developmental disabilities required ( If none you will get it prior to departure) Letters of recommendation (minimum of two) Interview with Program Faculty (via Skype if non UGA)
