2 Why would someone be put on a Low Sodium Diet?  Ménière’s Disease  Heart Failure  Hypertension (Ménière’s disease is a set of symptoms including vertigo, hearing loss, and ringing or buzzing in the ear. Episodes typically last from 20 minutes up to 4 hours.)

3 Diet Guidelines:  No more than 1,500 to 2,400 mg of sodium per day.  Try to eat more home cooked meals. Foods made from scratch are less likely to have high sodium levels than instant mixes.  Most salt substitutes have high potassium levels, so check with your doctor to make sure these are safe for you before using them.
