2 Who Invented the Anemometer A person called Leon Battista Alberti in the year 1450 but the cup anemometer was invented by a person named Dr. John Thomas Ronrey Robinson in the year 1846.

3 Why do we use Anemometer We use Anemometers because the anemometer measures wind velocity using a disc or group of four cups. These cups catch the wind inside it and then it rotates. The stronger the wind hits the cup, the faster the anemometer will rotate.

4 Scales An Anemometer measures the speed of the wind in mph, m/s, km/h or Knots as in speed.
