LOGIC BEHIND PRIORITIES 1.The Smart board was on the wish list of every person who participated in the survey, stating that it would vastly improve the quality of teaching through the use of the most up-to-date technology available. There are multiple uses across the curriculum for Smart boards. 2.The listening centers have been requested on numerous occasions. They will help ESOL students and students with reading difficulties work on their listening comprehension skills as well as provide another option for all students to experience literacy therefore enhancing literacy instruction. 3.Comprehension is very important to the teachers and staff at AWES. Wanting to use “best practices”, they would like to have equipment to record reader’s theater knowing this will help students learn how their own writing sounds when read as written and how reading fluently increases interest and comprehension.

16. RECOMMENDATIONS 1.Panasonic Whiteboard $ 2608.76 This board includes all necessary elements for immediate use without additional purchases. I wanted a trusted brand, and after reading user reviews, I felt that this board was the most consistent of the three. 2. Hamilton Electronics’ Headphones & Jack Box Listening Center $ 365.94 I liked this center the best because of the cover that it includes which simply slips over the holder. This allows for easier clean-up and makes for a neater presentation. This system has 8 headphones included, and by purchasing three of these (24 total headphones), an entire class can use them at one time. 3. Kodak Zi6 HD Pocket Video Camera $ 431.97 I chose this video camera because of its inclusion of software that allows for editing of the video, cables allowing immediate viewing, and megabyte capacity. TOTAL COST OF ITEMS: $3406.67

17. STATE CONTRACT CONCERNS I searched for a state contract for all the items that the teachers, media specialist, and principal requested. I was unable to find any contract details for any of the items.
