3 Introduction to Cardiff EDC Ian Thomson & Ceri Thomas, November 2011 The EDC at Cardiff University  Established in 1973 as a depository for official documents of the European Communities  Originally located in the Arts & Social Studies Library (ASSL) along with other official collections (e.g. United Nations)  Moved to the Guest Building in 1989  Expanded into space formerly occupied by the Aberconway Library in 2007  Rebranded as Cardiff EDC in 2009  Moved into renovated Guest Extension in 2011
