6. Let’s Practice! No E-mail Fridays: To encourage face to face communication, some offices have a “no email Fridays” policy. On Fridays, all messages are delivered in person. Directions: Work in small groups. Choose one speaker Speaker- read the email to yourself, you can make notes, then turn it over. Tell your classmates what was in the email. Pay attention to syllables and word stress! Listeners: Take notes on the important information. If you don’t understand, ask questions Compare your notes with the original email How did you do?

7. Syllables For a lot of languages: A syllable = Consonant + Vowel English is a little different. We can have CV, CVC, CCVC, CCCV, CCCVC, CCCVCC! Also, just because you see a vowel, doesn’t mean you should add a syllable: Passage Smile Dance ***Listen for a vowel sound.
