2 Dil Se… from the heart – Sleeps hungry on the streets – Is denied health care or education – Suffers from abuse or injustice A collaboration of caring between the Government and the citizens of Delhi to ensure that no child :

4 Objectives of the Dil Se Campaign –Positive state interventions for the urban poor –Responsible caring citizenship led by youth –Ensuring education, shelter, food, health care, protection, recreation, love, and eventual resettlement according to their aspirations

5 Government Support  Sharing of redeployment of government buildings for residential hostels  Convergence of various education and health programs  Admission into government schools  Rs 6800 per annum for every child

6 Local Organizations & Community Members Develop an interfaith fund to provide 3 nutritious meals to children in the hostels Create an encouraging environment and community Sneha Samitis (local community groups) contribute time and caring to the children and provide vocational training opportunities for their growth Donate time and resources to the hostels (i.e. beds, books, medicines) Assist in redeploying of private buildings for residential hostels

7 Aman Sathis A team of young people engaging with street children and helping them by: -develop relationships with homeless children, counsel them and help them access services they need -reside in the area in which they are working -identify buildings for redeployment -equip, start and help run the activities of the hostel -mobilize local volunteers, including house mothers and Sneha Samitis

8 Residential Hostels – Buildings throughout Delhi are scheduled to become hostels in the near future – Hostels will provide facilities including shelter, meals, educational, cultural and recreational activities – Each hostel will house 50 - 100 children and 10 house-mothers – Hostels should become an integral part of the society by aid provided by the community

9 Support and Advisory Groups of Dil Se Advisory Committee Prominent people from across India who assist in the supervision and monitoring of the Campaign Voluntary Leadership Collegium Professionals from a variety of fields (health, education etc.) who provide guidance and technical expertise Operational Coordination Team Aman Biradari staff who provide day-to-day coordination and management of the Dil Se Campaign

10 Ways that You Can Contribute Volunteer: Interact with the children about their experiences. Become their allies and advocates Contribute resources and materials for the hostels : Bedding materials, cooking supplies, clothes, books, etc. Donate funds: By supporting youth volunteers, financing necessary repairs in the hostel buildings, skill development trainings and drug de-addition camps, etc. Share your professional expertise: Doctors, counselors, teachers, architects, computer specialists, lawyers etc. Identify buildings: That can be converted into residential hostels for homeless children
