4 Koran No Islam without the Koran –Collection of Muhammad’s writings –Islam is an Arabic word meaning peace, and submission to Allah’s will –Followers are known as Muslims or Moslems –Majority are of the Sunni sect –Minority are Shiite

5 Koran Basic facts –Collection of his “revelations” –Perfect copy in heaven, a copy to Muhammad through Gabriel –Believe the Bible came from God –Contradictions with Bible the fault of corruption of the Bible

7 Koran Major claims –One God whose name is Allah, creator, ruler, judge of the world, dwelling in the seventh heaven –Abraham, Moses, and Jesus were prophets –Muhammad is the final, great prophet

10 Is The Koran From God? Involves the question of inspiration –God has worked through men (Hebrews 1:1) –Holy Spirit searched the mind of God and revealed it to men (1 Corinthians 2:9-13)

When did such revelation cease? –Silence from Malachi to John the Baptist (Malachi 4:5; Matthew 11:14) –Now speaking through Christ (Hebrews 1:1) –Revelation ceased with the completed Word (1 Corinthians 13:10) –All Truth promised to the apostles and delivered (John 16:13; Jude 3)

12 Conclusion The Koran is not from God Countless millions will be lost because of it
