3 A phone is a communication device you use to talk with other people. There are mobile phones today that we can move around with. These are handy, small, and easy to carry around. If you have a phone on your wall that phone might be connected to, a telephone box close to your house and that box is connected to, a station that might be called the “Local Exchange”. 4 Phones are used for communicating with other people in other places. It can also be used for texting people and sometimes if your bored you can use it for entertainment. Also for emergencies and safety.

5 In 1844 Innocenzo Manzetti first thought of the idea of a “Speaking Telegraph” or Telephone. Using the names “Speaking Telegraph” and “Sound Telegraph” would eventually get a newer, and better name, ’telephone’. Source Wikipedia

6  Phones changed because it’s more convenient, also because then we don’t have to use the phone inside the house we can use it outside and anywhere else.  Phones also have changed because of human needs like, being able to carry your phone around when you go to places.

7 It changed because in the past phones could only be used in your house but, now you can take it anywhere. It also changed because it’s easier to use, you used to have to spin a wheel to get your numbers but now, we just have to press buttons to get the number.

8 Phones are important because it can help you if there’s an emergency or if your lost, you can call the person you were with if you’re lost, but if there’s an emergency you could call the police or the ambulance. Also because if we didn’t have phones we wouldn’t be able to communicate to our, friends or relatives in other countries or cities.

9 A telephone which is usually referred as a phone, is a piece of technology that transmits and retrieves a sound but usually the human voice. The telephone is a point to point communication system, with the most basic function to allow 2 people that are, separated by a big distance to talk to each other. Source Wikipedia

10 In 1980’s, McKinsey and Co had forecasted a world wide market of 900,000 phones by the year 2000. Now 900,000 phones are being sold every 3 days. In 1998 phones were sold more than cars and Pc’s combined. Source 3C’s wikipage

11 Phones are still relevant because when people message or e-mail someone on the computer, it’s almost like communicating or talking to someone on a phone in the house or an outdoor phone. Also it’s still relevant because we still use them and, we see some phone antiques in museums.

14 Relevant – means is it related or is it still used today. Antique – is a rare item or object from the past. Pc’s – are computers. Transmits – is something that carries sounds. Retrieves – means it gets something like a sound. Device – is a piece of technology.
