We strive to educate and equip you with all the tools you need to work safely and still have an amazing summer. The first tool is knowledge, so lets dive in!

4. To ensure the safety of ourselves and everyone around us, we ALL must work towards workplace safety.

5. THE OHSA (ONTARIO HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT) HAS 3 MAIN RIGHTS THAT YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF:  The Right to Participate  The Right to Know  The Right to Refuse Unsafe Work

6. RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE All employees have the right within their workplace to be a part of identifying all hazards, and the process of safely going through processes and jobs required by the employer.

7. RIGHT TO KNOW All employees have the right to know about any hazards they may be exposed to. No ifs or buts about it. WHMIS comes into effect here.

8. RIGHT TO REFUSE UNSAFE WORK Very simply, all employees have the right to refuse any unsafe work if they deem it dangerous. The Joint Health and Safety Committee, which works with OHSA, can implement the ending of dangerous work in the workplace.

9. Most workers in Ontario have seen this poster. Safety in the workplace is the law, and it is very serious. Stayner Bible Conference Grounds and Camp Mishewah take it quite seriously as well.
