5 National Academy for Nuclear Training Accreditation Process Programs developed and implemented using Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) Programs must be based on specific documented learning objectives Program content – technically accurate, presented in technically appropriate and effective manner Trainees periodically evaluated to demonstrate/verify achievement of LO’s

6 Programs and Eligible Credit RO – 56 credits SRO – licensed or certified, 60 credits NLO – 36 credits STA – 54 credits, 60 if SRO licensed ICT – 32 credits EMT – 28 credits MMT – 26 credits CT – 41 credits RPT – 41 credits ESP – 28 credits

7 College Credit For Nuclear Industry Programs Operations and Support Personnel 10 positions granted college credit Must qualify in INPO Accredited Program NRC License/Qualification Certificate Notarized copy same as transcript

10 National Nuclear Uniform Curriculum New Partnerships INPO – NEI – 2yr,4yr Colleges 50 Community Colleges – Nuclear Partner Technical Associate Degree – Certificate Articulation Agreements w/ 4 yr Colleges TESC will accept up to 80 credits from regionally accredited community colleges – up to 120 credits from 4yr colleges

11 Industry Workforce Issues Ageing and retiring Creating looming shortage – workers/managers ANS Position #29 – widening gap between qualified workers and existing jobs NEI – need for new and replacement personnel will grow to 100,000 by 2011 Job requirements are being upgraded College requirements - existing/redesigned jobs New jobs – US Nuclear Renaissance

12 New Educational Partnerships Nuclear Energy – 2yr, 4yr Colleges Seamless training and educational pipeline Educational opportunities must come to working adult students Continuing educational opportunities as technology advances
