The soul is the organ of man’s free will, and both human spirit and human body are incorporated into it. The soul has the free will. It takes as its master the part that it likes.

23 Solus Christushttp://www.salvation123.com Three main elements in a man’s personality: Will Will – deliberating organ where the power of judgment lies. Mind Mind – thinking organ where intellect, knowledge and mental capacity resides. Emotion Emotion – organ of love, hatred, and sentiments.

The eternal life in John 3:16 is the life of God which is put into man's spirit by the Holy Spirit. Because this life is God's life, which can never die, all who have been regenerated have this life and are said to "have eternal life."
