Aao Mil ka Pair Lagayain Lesson Plan Mrs. Farhat Abid Urdu D.A JMS DARAKHSHAN

Topical Backgound ‘Aao mil ka pairr lagayain’ is an Urdu ‘Nazm’ for young students. A ’Nazm’ is an Urdu poetic form that is normally written in rhymed verse. The main aim of this poem is to highlight the importance of trees to children of young age. The ‘Nazm’ is based on 12 lines. It is a short poem and easy for children to understand.

Theory This Urdu ‘Nazm’ is written by ‘Khanzada Sami-ul-Ori’. In English, a ‘Nazm’ can more commonly be referred to as a poem for kids. The message of this poem to kids is about the importance of trees in our lives. The ‘Nazm’ explains to children how trees are helpful to us in our everyday lives. They help us by providing rain through ‘transpiration’, give us shade in the Sun, share fruits amongst us and allow us to use their wood for our everyday purposes.

Effect The ‘Nazm’ is in simple Urdu and the message it contains will be passes on very clearly to students who read it. It will prepare and motivate children to plant more trees and take care of the existing ones around them. The importance of trees will now be solidified in a concrete form in children’s mind. The exposure of children to ‘Nazms’ or ‘Poems’, will allow them to learn and discover this dimension of Urdu as well.

Conclusion ‘Aao mil kar pair lagayain’ is a poem that allows children of young age to understand the importance of trees; (How they are useful to us & how we should protect and plant them), whilst they continue their learning process in Urdu by discovering new things such as ‘Nazms’.
