1 Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord

2 Introduction:  “Trust yourself”  “Believe in yourself”  “Find your own strength”  “Develop self-sufficiency”

3 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

4 Trust in the Lord:  God is faithful  “YHWH”  You need the Lord  Faith!

5 Trust in the Lord fully:  Your whole heart Therefore the Lord said: "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men Isaiah 29:13

6 Trust in the Lord fully:  Your whole heart you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

7 Trust in the Lord fully:  Your whole heart  Practical applications My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands Proverbs 3:1 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart Proverbs 3:3

9 Trust in the Lord fully:  Your whole heart  Practical applications Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase Proverbs 3:9

11 Don’t trust yourself:  “Lean”  “Understanding” Joshua 7:6-9

13 God will direct your life:  You need direction A man's steps are of the Lord; How then can a man understand his own way? Proverbs 20:24

14 God will direct your life:  You need direction  How will God do it?  By His Word!

15 God will direct your life: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2

16 Application: 1. Learn & live by the Word of God 2. Foster a lifestyle of dependence on God Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

17 Application: 1. Learn & live by the Word of God 2. Foster a lifestyle of dependence on God 3. Trust Jesus Christ for salvation "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.“ Romans 10:13

18 Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve Joshua 24:15 But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15
