1 Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

2 -Born in 1547. -He was a soldier, a poet and a novelist. -The most important writer of spanish literature. -He moved to Italy running away from the accusation of killing a gentleman. -He became a soldier and lost an arm in the Battle of Lepanto.

3 -He remained captured by the Turkish during five years. -He was set free by valencian merchants and came back to Spain. -He moved to Portugal and worked for the king Felipe II. -He moved to the South of Spain and was imprisoned accused of appropiating public money. - In jail he started writing “Don Quixote”. -He was assigned to come through the galleys and got to scape.

4 - He created the literary realism by publishing the first part of “Don Quixote”. -Some other works are “Exemplary novels” and “La Galatea”. -Then came the second part of “Don Quixote”. -He died in 1616 in Madrid.

5 It relates the adventures of Alonso Quijano, who reads too many novels and goes crazy, believing that he is an errant knight called Don Quixote. He recruits a farmer, Sancho Panza, as his squire. He is in love with Dulcinea, a peasant, because he thinks that she is a beautiful maiden. The most important book of the spanish literature and one of the best works of universal literature.
