Incident 1~ Shot in the foot by Elmer Fud at 2 weeks old. Surgery to remove the bullet, Stitches, 6 weeks rest. Incident 2~ at 4 weeks old fights Daffy Duck and gets ear half bitten off. Stitched back, 2 ½ weeks rest. Incident 3~ At 5 weeks old Bugs had a seizure relating to huger and cold sweats. Diagnosed him with Hypoglycemia and prescribed him with Glucose tablets. Incident 4~ At 6 weeks old had another seizure related to Hypoglycemia, now we issued him an Insulin along with his Glucose pills.

At age 4, Bugs was diagnosed with Hypoglycemia. He was born with this disease. This disease is not contagious and he did not catch it from any other animals. Relative hypoglycemia is a fairly common condition in which a newborn's blood sugar is low. Babies born to mothers with diabetes may have severe hypoglycemia. Idiopathic hypoglycemia is hypoglycemia that occurs without a known cause. People with this type of hypoglycemia do not have diabetes.

Symptoms you may have when your rabbits blood sugar gets too low include: Cold sweats Convulsions Double vision or blurry vision Fast or pounding heartbeat General discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling (malaise) Headache Hunger Irritability (possible aggression) Nervousness Shaking or trembling Sleeping difficulty Tingling or numbness of the skin Tiredness or weakness

Sometimes your rabbits blood sugar may be too low, even if you do not have symptoms. If your blood sugar gets too low, you may: Faint Have a seizure Go into a coma

Unclear thinking Decreased alertness Different size pupils Dizziness Hallucinations Memory loss Muscle pain Paleness

If you feel that your rabbits blood glucose is too low, test it. If it is 70 mg/dl or lower, you should eat or drink 15 grams of carbohydrate quickly 1/2 cup of fruit juice, such as: 1-2 teaspoons of sugar or honey 1/2 cup of regular soda 5-6 pieces of hard candy Glucose gel or tablets (take the amount noted on the package to add up to 15 grams of carbohydrate) 1 cup of milk Test your rabbits blood sugar again in 15 minutes. If it is still below 70 mg/dl, eat another 15 grams of carbohydrate. If your blood glucose is not low but your next meal is an hour away, have a snack with starch and protein, such as: Crackers and peanut butter or cheese Half a ham or turkey sandwich Crackers or cereal with a cup of milk

Transient Juvenile Hypoglycemia is caused by stress, low body temperature, poor nutrition, sudden change in feed, water and schedule patterns, infections, and premature birth may precipitate the onset of hypoglycemia. Some bunnies, bred exclusively for tiny size bunnies are even more predisposed to transient juvenile hypoglycemia since insufficient muscle mass may make it difficult for the body to store the glucose and keep its blood sugar properly regulated.

Step one- Kill off all adult bunnies with Hypoglycemia. Step two- Take all Hypoglycemia baby bunnies and put them in a special pin. Step Three- Give all baby bunnies special need and help by nurturing them with extra glucose to keep them alive. Do not let any of the baby bunnies breed. Separate the males from females too.

When we kill off the animals we must make sure that none of the other animals eat the meat. This can be very dangerous and turn into a litter full of hypoglycemic animals and we don’t need that. We will burn all dead animals and spread the ash on there homeland.
